Our Approach

OUR APPROACH

We believe an 'eclectic approach' in counseling is the most effective way to bring healing and wholeness to your soul. Not one size fits all!

We all need soul care. As we navigate our own personal journey through life, storms are inevitable. Just as physical storms damage our homes, personal storms damage our souls. Storms get our attention; they mature us; they build us.

Since all of us were uniquely formed by our Creator, each of us process life differently. We are fearfully and wonderfully made! At an early age, we created pathways, within ourselves, that helped us cope emotionally as we lived life in a confusing world. These pathways made sense in the past, but today these coping mechanisms are no longer effective. They now cause havoc within us personally and within our relationships. We isolate, we become depressed, we become angry, anxious and fearful, we become overwhelmed and feel worthless, we become traumatized. Thus, the reason for our "eclectic" approach.

Bottom line is: God is our absolute Healer and He desires us to live in community fully living from the heart Jesus gave us. We would love to connect with you!

ASSESSMENTS & CONSULTATION

Upon our initial conversation, we determine the appropriate assessments needed to ascertain the best "lifeline" for your journey of recovery. We use Prepare/Enrich and Taylor Johnson Assessments, along with others, that help us determine the course of action needed. After assessments are completed, we meet by zoom or in person to discuss and map out your journey of recovery.

PERSONAL & MARRIAGE RELATIONSHIPS

In personal and marriage counseling, we begin the action plan determined through the assessment and consultation. We offer support and connection, as well as personal appointment times, to aid you on your joyful journey of purpose and fulfillment.

ADDICTION COUNSELING

Addiction is defined as 'any behavior we do that takes us away from pain.' We all have "pain" and none of us just naturally know how to heal our pain. Therefore, we all have addictions that can potentially shipwreck our lives.

We use a resource called Genesis Change Process created by Michael Dye for both individual counseling and for group therapy. This offers healing and support along the way that ensures success in overcoming the behaviors that keep us from navigating life in a present, authentic, hopeful way.
